Tian-Shan mountains are of great interest
for the bicycle tourists. It's possibility to observe a great
deal of the territory for the short period of time. A lot of
ground roads for the geologist and shepherds are conductive
to this. As rule there's very little traffic on these roads
but they allow to look into the very of the mountains.
After arriving to Almaty (Bishkek) and rest
your drive to the eastern spurs of Terskey Ala-Too range to
the Karkara canyon for cycling around and rest in the Karkara
base camp. From the base camp up along the canyon via the Kyzyl-Moynok
pass to the Sary Djaz canyon.
Sloping descent over the ground road along the
Sary-Djaz river to the join with the Ottuk river (the altitude
of the join is 2680 m.) Rise to the Chon-Ashu pass (3822 m.)
An descent to the forest and meadow zone. The first part of
the tour is finishing on the shore of the lake in the holiday
hotel. After the rest and acclimatization to the high altitude
mountains -to the new adventures in the mountains. The
Tosor gorge and way via over the tundra zone where there are
only old road, rare yurts and tents of nomadic shepherds to
the Son-Kul lake (3016 m. above see level.) After that bicycle
ride through the Kara-Kychy pass to the Kekemeren canyon with
a rest on the shore of clear mountain spring.
The way along Kekemeren river to the Susamyr
valley , West and East Karakol canyon and than to the Isyk-Kul
lake make your beautiful tour finished. Drive to Almaty (Bishkek)
and departure.
The group will be escorted by the guide-interpreter,
cook and worker, for luggage transportation a lorry will be

Itinerary:
Day 1. Arrival to Almaty. Accommodation at the hotel.
Rest. Walk over the evening city.
Day 2. Drive to the eastern spurs of Terskey Ala-Too
range to the Karkara canyon. Overnight in tents. Day 3.
Cycle - race over the picturesque canyon. Return to camp.
Day 4. From the Karkara camp we ascend the canyon via
the Kyzyl-Moynok pass crossing to the Sary-Djaz canyon. Overnight
in tents.
Day 5. Fantastic descent on a gravel road along the
Sary-Gjaz river brings us to the join Ottuk river. (2680 m.)
From here it is again uphill to the Chon-Ashu pass (3822 m.)
we then descend to the forest zone. Overnight in tents.
Day 6. Drive to the holiday hotel on the shore of the
lake by bus. Overnight in cottages.
Day 7. After the first part of the journey we are now
acclimatized and rested for the new adventures. Drive to the
Tossor gorge. Overnight in tents.
Day 8. Today we make our bicycle way through tundra
along old roads. We will also have the opportunity to visit
the yurts that are dotted along the way. Overnight in tents.
Day 9. Up to Lake Son-Kul (301 6 m). Overnight in tents.
Day 10. A slow and leisurely bicycle ride around the
lake will give us the opportunity to get acquainted with the
traditions of nomad people.
Day 11. Bicycle ride over the Kara-Kychy pass to the
Kekemeren canyon. Overnight in the tents on the shore of a
clear mountain spring.
Day 12. More rivers, more valleys, more canyons end
point is the West Karakol canyon. Overnight in tents.
Day 13. Across the Karakol pass to the East Karakol
canyon. Overnight in tents.
Day 14. Drive to the holiday hotel on the shore of
Lake Issyk-Kul. A great chance to rest up and absorb the beauty
of the region.
Day 15. Drive to Almaty or Bishkek. Transfer to airport
for departure.
